# Updating Vuemail

> How to update Vuemail to a newer version

## Update the packages

`@vuemaildev/vuemail` and `@vuemaildev/ui` are released together, and the CLI only runs the preview app when both
are in the same version, so always update them at once:

```sh npm theme={null}
npm install @vuemaildev/vuemail@latest
npm install @vuemaildev/ui@latest -D
```

```sh yarn theme={null}
yarn add @vuemaildev/vuemail@latest
yarn add @vuemaildev/ui@latest -D
```

```sh pnpm theme={null}
pnpm add @vuemaildev/vuemail@latest
pnpm add @vuemaildev/ui@latest -D
```

```sh bun theme={null}
bun add @vuemaildev/vuemail@latest
bun add @vuemaildev/ui@latest -D
```

If you use them, update `@vuemaildev/nuxt`, `@vuemaildev/editor` and `@vuemaildev/render` too.

> [!NOTE]
>
> `@vuemaildev/vuemail` includes everything in `@vuemaildev/render`, so you only need `@vuemaildev/render` when you want
> the render utility on its own. The editor, `@vuemaildev/editor`, and the preview app, `@vuemaildev/ui`,
> are separate packages.

## Check what changed

Read the [changelog](https://vuemail.dev/docs/changelog.md) for what's new in each version, and for any change that needs you to
update your emails.

Coming from React Email instead? See [Migrating to Vuemail](https://vuemail.dev/docs/getting-started/migrating-to-vuemail.md#from-react-email).

Try adding these other components to your email.
